Job Search Newsletter--Sarah Johnston's Briefcase "Briefs" Job Search Newsletter - www.briefcasecoach.com - Issue #25

In this issue: navigating taxes as a newly unemployed job seeker, 5 ways to get more LinkedIn profile views, job search depression, how to ask for a raise during a pandemic and more!

Dear Reader,

Here's your challenge today.

Take a minute and make an introduction for someone.

- Do you know someone who is unemployed? Shoot them an email and ask how their job search is going. Ask them to send you a target list of companies. Review their target company list and try to connect them to at least one person.

- Do you have a high performing team member who you know wants to get to the next level? Introduce them to someone influential.

- Do you have a friend who owns a small business? Help connect them to a potential client.

- Do you know a high school or college student at a cross roads trying to figure out their career path? Make an introduction to someone you know doing work that they are interested in so that they can conduct an informational interview.

WHY? Because it only takes one conversation to change their entire trajectory.

You literally have the power to change someone's life by making an introduction. This is not cliche stuff. Friends--and even strangers-- have opened doors for me.

Be a connector. It really feels good to connect people with possibilities. Heck, science tells us that when we help others we trigger our brains release of oxytocin, serotonin and dopamine.
